Old man’s shoes? Or… What was I saying?

Voi.

No, not a dyslexic Jewish exclamation.

It’s a fashion designer outlet store.

They have a large store in Sydney which is always fun for a browse and occasionally one can find themselves a bargain.

Voi also have a pop up store in George Street, which has been doing the “closing down” sale thing for at least six months.

I’m not complaining, because this is the store that they put the sale items that won’t sell in the Flagship store, and mark them down with another discount.

These shoes, for example.

Italian made Fratelli Ferrante loafers marked down from a retail price of $500, to a measly $99.00!

Now, I’m a fan of the tasseled loafer for certain occasions and looks, but it seems one of my friends isn’t.

My excitement was tempered for about half a millisecond after posting my latest trophy on Facebook when her comment was:

“Stepping into the old man wardrobe early I see. The tassels are designed to accentuate and mirror the excessive ear and nasal hair growth one should be experiencing once one reaches an age where one find these clodhoppers attractive.”

My first thought, naturally, was “Bitch!”

My second thought was to run into the bathroom to check my nose and ears for any stray hairs. (I’m happy to report there was nothing there).

My third, final, and most important thought, was “They’re Italian, they were less than a quarter of the original price, they’re gorgeously comfortable, look great, and they’re mine!”

What do you think, Occasional Reader?

Hot, or not?
